In 2002 when Solo went to throw his first show with Extended F@mm the venue was pressured by local police to cancel it. Forcing us to move it last minute from a small club in Asbury Park to an even smaller Pub in Belmar (Piranhah Pub). The show went on, but it became a mission for Solo to get Asbury to allow Hip Hop again... Fast forward some years later, after touring around the country with a group at some fancy venues and being treated like royalty... Solo was now packed with enough accolades to book... The Saint in Asbury Park... That first show was something special tho... One rapper crammed between jam bands... And the roof was torn off... Word spread around and Solo was able to play The Wonder Bar, Asbury Lanes (the OG Lanes), The Stone Pony and eventually was granted permission to throw a curated day of live Hip Hop music... The first Asbury Park Hip Hop Fest was held August 6th 2017 at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park NJ... Line up includes Pacewon of the Outsidaz, Ren Thomas, Solo For Dolo, Nujericans, Drea, Shoreshot, Redline, Dry Pesci, The Good People, Hosted by Ghetto M.C. and Sun Lo and had DJ C-Reality of Flip The Script Radio on the wheels. The night brought Hip Hop heads from NYC and Philly all the way out to NJ to see what was going down. Salute to everyone who came and rocked.
